Action Sports Heroes Cavort at Rose Quarter
Fans of competitive motor cycling and skateboarding have an opportunity August 21-24 to watch world leaders in these disciplines cavort at Portland's Rose Quarter. There will also be an opportunity for participating in some interactive events at the Toyota Festival Village. The Action Sports Dew Tour stop will feature riding by Jamie Bestwick, currently the number one BMX vertical rider in the world and repeating his dominance in the 2007 AST. Bob Burnquist, a Brazilian who has been crowned three times as world vertical skateboarding champion, will perform. Greg Lutzka will bid to earn number one World Cup skateboarding ranking to top his silver medal at the 2007 X-games. T.J. Ellis will show his BMX Dirt biking tricks.
Th public is invited to join the fun with events built around four Toyota vehicles...The Corolla Call Sign question & answer session will generate a 'dog tag' sign appropriate to the caller'answers. The Tacoma Free Fall Photo event has guests climb into thebed of a pickup truck clad in protective eyewear and scarf, then a system of straps suspends the guest with wind fans blowing toward them and are photographed from below to create a souvenir simulated sky-diving shot.
The FJ Cruiser Soak Zone has guests climb into the vehicle's seats, with one guest behind the wheel at the trigger. A Super-soaker water blast is unleashed against the passeners who crouch behind skateboard decks. The Matrix Sonic Boom event has guests seated in a Toyota eq uipped with a sound system that delivers a variety of extreme audio assaults on the occupants.
