CBS Bastardizes Reagan Legacy: A Prediction

October 24, 2003 -- Watching the idiot Harry Smith on the CBS (I almost wrote CBC) morning show, interviewing some airhead who was kicked off one of those misnamed “reality” shows last night, it came to me for the thousandth time that Smith is a pandering fool who kisses the backside of the politically correct for a living.  A suckup.  A toadie.  Later on the program, we were treated to an incredible discovery by a moronic contributor to the New Yorker Magazine, or some other piece of liberal propaganda with a similar name.  The incredible discovery?

The women’s movement is shocked to discover that part of the reason huge numbers of women don’t make it to the corporate top is that huge numbers of them choose family over profession.

Comets fall through the sky realm of my realization!  Whales surface in the seas of my sensibilities.  Trumpets toot terrabyte tango(e)s of torrential truth in my industrial-strength, original-equipment audio inlets, which henceforth will ring day and night with amazement.  I would have never, ever guessed.  Next, they’ll be telling me that abortion is baby murder, you don’t tax your way out of a recession and Al Gore’s new liberal radio network will follow Phil Donahue into that icky blackwater broadcast black hole in the sky, and in a blink of the eye, like Margaret Mitchell’s concorde of cotton cavaliers and their monumentally self-indulgent ladies fair be gone with the stinking wind.

This is the thing those of you with youthful but properly-connected synaptic systems are going to have to adjust to.  Take it from this old man (62, today) who was wearing a suit and tie in San Francisco in 1968 when he stood watching all those drugged hippies with flowers in their hair flow by on their way to Psychedelika.  Take it from a man who had the great fortune to be alive during a time when people only had to work until mid-January to pay their taxes.

There was a time when actors reacted to danger to their country by enlisting in the military and risking their lives to defend it.  I was just a child, and understood their patriotism only later.  When I finally did understand it, I realized that they had done it for me.  Little kids can’t defend themselves against the Empire of Japan or the Nazis, so Clark Gable and Jimmy Stewart left Hollywood, put on a uniform and faced incoming fire so I wouldn’t have to grow up in a slave labor camp.

Then, their children entered the picture.  The Baby Boomers who gave us the Sixties, the Great Society, drugs and all the rest.  Spitting on everything the greatest generation held sacred, they infected the culture with a leprosy of ideas which has eaten at America down to this very day.

The anti-biotic is conservatism, but be warned.  If we do not complete the treatment regimen, the disease will return revived and resistant.

Bit by bit and piece by piece, liberals will like Brazilian army ants snip pieces off you if you let them.  Automatons with spiked metal teeth, they form an endless clacking rap macarena line that snakes beyond the hills and over the horizon, rocking from side to side, endlessly droning the liberal litany.  If you aren’t careful, they will drive you crazy.

This morning their discovery that lots of women prefer having a family to having a career was national news on CBS.  Now, I hear that CBS is soon going to air a dramatic portrait of Ronald and Nancy Reagan.  This weekend or this fall, I have no idea.

It is my suggestion that you avoid that program if you’re a conservative.  If you see enough of that sort of thing, eventually it will eat the joy out of you.  Understand that I have not seen a preview of the show.  I haven’t the faintest idea who wrote it, who is acting in it, who directed it or who produced it.  All I know is that it is going to run on CBS.  That is all I need to know.  The program will be an insult to reason, a fictional treason.  It will stomp on the truth with Nazi boots. It will ridicule the greatest president of the 20th Century, who like the greatest president of the 19th Century was a Republican.

They do it intentionally. They despise rationality, reason and responsibility.  They are networks of Tokyo Roses, working daily to take the courage from your heart so the fight in your muscles will go out of you.  From music titled “Ho’s (whores) in my Room,” to Kill Bill and the remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, they are spiritual Tokyo Roses.   Do not voluntarily drink their poison.  Edit it from the book of your life.  You can fill your liberal storage bin of lies with the evening network and local news.  Your local paper probably helps, as well.

Don’t watch this CBS late stage historical abortion.  Its intent is to suck your brains out, and if you watch enough programs like it, sooner or later you will be unable to think.

PPS: Reagan Friend Merv Griffin Blasts CBS for “Cowardly Act”

Veteran television host and producer Merv Griffin, a long-time friend of Ronald and Nancy Reagan, appeared Tuesday night on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann and used the opportunity to blast CBS for “the most cowardly thing I’ve ever heard” over the reported tone and content of CBS’s upcoming mini-series, The Reagans.

“It’s a cowardly act,” he charged, asking: “Is that what the 'C’ stands for in CBS?” Griffin laid into CBS for denigrating the Reagans when they “can’t fight back” since Ronald Reagan is “on his deathbed” and Nancy Reagan is taking care of him all day.

MSNBC delivered a cowardly act itself. As Griffin spoke, on-screen text, below some historic video of Ronald and Nancy Reagan, read: “30 Members of Reagan Admin. Spent Time in Prison.”

OMED: About the same number of Clinton Administration members who went behind bars. Ex-governors, business partners.  Then there were the illegal foreign campaign donors.  Dozens of them simply left the country. And, we have to include the Clintion era dead, which inclluded Ron Brown, Vince Foster and that fellow who died mysterioiusly in prison.  What the hell was his name? "Mc" something, I think.  There were so many.

Anybody care to bet CBS will do a hit piece like this on Clinton?  I'm giving odds they won't..

PPPS: This piece has received a tremendous amount of attention in the big internet political forums. New information has popped up in them. Chevrolet, one of the program's sponsors has angered tens of millions of potential customers.  Reports have suggested that the legendary Hallmark greeting card company, once respected for its television specials, is connected to the production.  If that is true, fools run that company, now.  Once associated with traditional America, if they have done this they have spat in the face of their primary audience.

That last point is made crystal clear in a comment from one of those forums which was sent to us.

I am 6 years older than the writer and think that if you grew up and lived during this period of transition, it hurts worse, and can drive you crazy.... you remember a country where Democrats really did put America first... there was no political correctness, you called unpatriotic people "unpatriotic", you called treason, treason, the poor didn't ask for handouts, the looked harder for work.. people had pride afterall.. you called bums, "bums"...a large number of Hollywood stars WERE role models for a kid.... churches were used to gather the faithful, not a political rallying place... wakes were for mourning the dead, not political rally..entertainers entertained, they were not political self-appointed spokespersons.

The churches, the family and the faithful have all taken a backseat role in this new America....and yes, I think I'm going a little crazy over the loss of American values...

In my opinion, the thoughts expressed by "vivavoce" represent more than a danger to the producers, the sponsors and the network.  I read the extraordinary reaction this is generating as indicative of coming events which are far more serious in nature..  The quadrennial election of 2004 is going to offer voters the choice of 1) presidential and congressional candidates for political office who stand for traditional American values, or 2) candidates who are "new" Democrats.

"Vivavoce" speaks for a great many people in the age group which has the highest voting percentage. I think "vivavoce" is a Democrat.  It's just a guess stimulated by something that comes through in the text.  But, if my assumption is correct, "vivavoce" and I have a great deal in common.

We both think nearly fatal damage has been done to America by liberalism, and we both have come to understand that it can all be changed in a single day in a single election if the conditions are correct..  All the signs I see, including television productions like the one under discussion, here, lead me to believe that the destroyers of America are becoming aware that the 2004 election is the one.  It is making them desperate.

What makes 2004 so special?

It contains the potential of the election of a president who makes conservative (read: traditional) judicial nominations, and the possibility of  a cloture-level conservative majority in the Senate.

"Vivavoce" is a wise old American.  He (or she) knows how the system works.  I agree.  We are that close.  We are a handful of senators away from defeating the worst enemies America has ever faced.
