Syriana: Hollywood Eyes 2006

Early December, 2005 -- This is a review of a film I have not seen, and will never see.  How can such a thing be a rational activity?  Let's imagine that we found out that Hitler was still alive, living in Hollywood, and was making a film about Jews. Would you be willing to join me in guessing how he might treat the subject?  Of course you would.  It has to do with past activities by the artist.  There's a pattern there in some cases.  For example:

Clooney Murrow Movie a Film Flam

The movie above got rave reviews from the old line media, and from what the old line media often refer to as the "alternative" media.  (Pure socialist sources like the Village Voice and PBS radio.) The television commercials about our subject, here (Hollywood personality George Clooney's new movie, Syriana) imply that this film is about oil.  If so, then it portrays what Clooney, a typical wild-assed and brainless Hollywood liberal, sees as the deceptive practices of the giant energy corporations as they slip into bed with, among others, American government officials who are on the conservative side of the political spectrum.  Perhaps a G.W. Bush surrogate will lurk somewhere in this story. Certainy a stand-in for Vice President Cheney is a real possibility. No doubt, there are people for sale in Europe and in oil country (the Middle East), as well.  To do this film, the writer and director will have had to ignore all factual evidence relating to the topic.

The liberal myth about conservatism requires a total distaste for facts, and there is the war in Iraq.  The Republicans are dangerously close to establishing the principles of democracy in that region.  Victory over terrorism and energy supply stability is not in the best interest of the present controlling forces in the American Democrat Party.

People in motion to the Left

This film's creators had to ignore the liberals who ran the United Nations/Iraqi Oil For Food program (the largest financial scam in history), the government of France and other money-hungry European socialist nations, murderous Islamic thugs practicing genocide of Christians in Africa and all the actions of the political Left in America. The truth about any of these would generate problems for the Democrats

Let's see ... they had to ignore the lifetime voting records of people like Ron Wyden (Senator, D-OR) and Earl Blumenauer (Rep, D-OR) who have shut down every attempt by conservatives to develop America's known but untapped petroleum resources, every attempt by conservatives to ease the regulatory path for the contstruction of refineries, every attempt by conservatives to exploit America's gigantic deposits of low sulphur coal (Clinton locked the largest of these deposits under a new national park) and every attempt by conservatives to copy Europe's mammoth nuclear energy system.

(One Trojan nuclear plant, now a monument to liberal victory on the way down the Columbia River to Astoria, is roughly equal to one Bonneville hydroelectric dam, which is the current target of greenies, who want it and all the other dams on the river removed because they have damaged the native fish runs.  In point of fact, they have.  Everything comes with a price.  If we did remove the dams the fish runs would return while the economy of the Pacific NW would collapse so far so quickly that in comparison the Great Depression would look like an economic boom. )

The creators of this film would even have to ignore the laws of supply and demand, just as American liberals in congress and the old media recently did, blaming hurricane season fuel price hikes on corporate price gouging instead of the real culprits -- themselves. The Portland, Oregonian, Ron Wyden and Earl Blumenauer are the reason not one new refinery has been built in America in thirty years.  They are also the reason for America's high level of dependence on foreign oil.  As suggested above, because of them, we don't drill for known stores of oil off any of our shores, from the Arctic to the Pacific to the Gulf to the Atlantic. Bear in mind that when the subject  of dependency on foreign oil sources comes up, they blame President Bush, a former oil man who would like to prospect and develop American petroleum resources, for what they have done.  The hypocrisy is titanic.  They get away with it because most Americans get all their news and analysis from media oulets which via ignorance or intent support the continuation of all such misinformation and outright lies.

In Clooney's film, I imagine, you will see evil Republican-speaking politicians and corporation criminals lying to the American people, bribing (corrupting) foreign governmental officials and/or murdering or threatening to murder people all over the place.  Maybe the film will show them lying to Islamic true believers, who are all noble, simple, honest tribal people who deeply respect women, children and other living things, live simply and think deep thoughts about the mystery of the desert, and who give away all they have to the needy because they are a river to their people.  (Auda Abu Tai -- LofA)

In the film you will probably see noble leftwing media people, noble leftwing politicians, noble leftwing academic elites, noble leftwing environmentalists (or some combination of these) nobly battling against the evil rightwing forces of capitalism (profit), who care nothing about fouling the planet, damaging the atmosphere, blinding children  with chemical sprays from breaks in sub-standard pipes, or feeding poisons to innocent pregnant women to see what the compounds do to their babies.

Yes, the evil corporations

In this film, experience with Clooney's type tells me, you will see the true corporate driving force, profit, displayed in its true clothing -- as a sickness which enslaves the ignorant population.  Justifications of profit will be lies told by monsters who exist under the protection of rightwing politicians and the corporate media empires which support them.

The fascinating thing about this last item is that the concept generates gales of laughter in conservative circles.  It is one of the biggest leftwing lies of our times, because all the giant media conglomerates which aren't in business partnerships with freakingly liberal film companies pander to the Clooneys of the world anyway, as a daily matter of course.  Book publishers, commercial and "public" broadcast networks -- if you read a positive review of a film in the New York Times, you will read the same opinions in the Village Voice or Rolling Stone.  I think they all sleep together, in the same greasy bed, every night.

In this film, if the fascist corporations win the day, it will be a tragedy.  If the fascist corporations and their lackies in the rightwing government lose, it will be a victory for all that is sunny and clean and healthy and good.  Rent yourself a DVD of an early 20th Century film titled North Star to see what  sunny, clean, healthy and good look like.  (The screenplay was written by Lillian Helman, who was attacked by HUAC's Joe McCarthy during the days of the Red Hunt in Hollywood.  Visualize an heroic statue of a worker in Red Square riding a wagon full of wonderful vegetables, and singing lustily about the glories of socialist life, and you have it.)  (12/08 Correction: McCarthy was a U.S. Senator, not a member of the House.  His hearings on the subject of the Red Scare were the first such to be televised in history. I recall watching them more than fifty years ago, at the age of twelve.)

Hollywood, these days, is stage Left

How do I know all this without viewing the film?  George Clooney is connected to this movie.  He made it, financed it, plays a part in it -- or some combination of these.

George Clooney, like Norman Lear, Rob Reiner, Barbra Streisand and nearly every other performer, director, producer or crew member in the film business, today, is a propaganda conduit for forces which have these past hundred years and more done their best to destroy America.

Clooney's life is dedicated to the premise that all men are created equal targets for membership (enslavement) within a socialist state run by Clooney and those who share his view of things.  When he is in charge, he will be in charge of everything and everyone.  Spend your next vacation in North Korea if you're curious what it will be like.

This is about 2006, folks.  Defeating Bush, defeating America, defeating the freedom dream in Iraq and everywhere else on the planet.

Yes, I understand that some of you think I am crazy.  I think some of you are asleep.  Just how many of you are will become clear next fall.  The Clooneys of America are pulling out all the stops.  They've lost the last three elections, and so have lost the White House, Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court.  Hell, their media is losing audience!  Fewer people watched NBC's evening news the year Tom Brokaw retired than the year he was hired.  Fewer actual numbers.  And, some of the largest papers in America are having to rebate money to advertisers because their circulation numbers were -- oh, we'll call them, incorrect. (They're smaller than these giant newspapers said they were.)

Why would the nations's largest newspapers be losing readers?  Some say it's the internet.  Faster, cheaper and you don't have to sift through hundreds of pages to find what you want.  But, the networks?  Why would they have declining numbers?  Well, in my opinion you've had daily exposure to what the polls say about the president and the Republicans, but until you tuned into alternative media sources, like talk radio and this magazine, you didn't have the rest of the story.  You didn't know what those same polls say about the Democrats and their media.  Poisonous insects have higher popularity ratings.

Information is the key.  Liberals no longer control all of it.  Unless they take immediate and massive action, their socialist dream may suffer a fatal blow from freedom's hammer in 2006.

This film, Clooney's movie,  is part of their campaign to destroy America by reviving their movement -- to abrogate all of the founding precepts which caused America  to become the economic powerhouse and political light of the world -- to turn it into a managed economy populated by the blindly obedient -- a gigantic bureaucracy featuring forced assignment of living space in public housing projects alongside public transportation rail tracks which lead to government assigned jobs.  A bureaucracy whose titanic bulk will crush all hope for all the world, forever.

Your glorious socialist future

The above pararaph sounds like florid rhetoric written as dialogue for some stupid propaganda film, does it not?  Go talk to a refugee from Castro's Cuba.  If you listen to what he says, you will come to believe that your nation is located less than a hundred miles from the place described in that paragraph.

It is impossible to conceive such a thing happening here, is it not?   We're halfway there, already.  The founding fathers would be shocked by present day America.  (Madison once blocked  funding for disaster victims, saying that the power to do that with taxpayer's money was not in the U.S. Constitution.  You may trust me when I say that Madison knew quite a bit about the U.S. Constitution.  Or, Google him.  James was his first name.  You'll see why I said that he knew a lot about that document.)

These Hollywood people who criticize capitalism are some of the most competitive people on Earth.  It is ironic that their perfect nation, considering that they despise corporations, is one single giant corporation.  It owns everything, everybody works for it and nobody goes on strike for better working conditions or better pay.  Everybody except Winston Smith is happy working for a bowl of thin soup, and enjoys living in the agricultural commune because there's a gulag for those who don't.  Well, those who stick their head up and complain..  My money says that Clooney's movie, like almost everything Hollywood does these days, is a propaganda vehicle aimed at creating this Brave New Socialist World.

I would happily bet the whole farm that many of the elements I have proposed here are in Syriana, because I agree with the recent polls about Hollywood.  These polls contain the information you need to decode the reason why film revenues, unlike the booming Bush tax cut economy, are way down this year.  In a word, it's because the young adults who make up the bulk of the audience have come to the conclusion that today's films are boring.  They are predictable story clones of predictable story clones of predictable story clones.  Even when they aren't remakes of old TV shows, they are pieces of characters, story and setting lifted from the same basket of tricks Hollywood has been using for decades.

One thing you can count on.  The actual oil criminals, the folks at the United Nations who in the Iraq Oil For Food Scam pulled off the greatest con job in history, will not be accurately portrayed.  We must not dirty the skirts of Kofi Annan.

The kids are right.  The movies are so predictable they're boring.  And, that means the odds are on my side with this review of Syriana.  You don't even have to see them to review them, these days.
