True to form, on this monumental day after this earthshaking first-ever historic event of a democratic election in an Arab country -- here is the Oregonian headline proclaiming this staggering Bush milestone victory in the worldwide war against terrorism that proceeded peacefully and drew a record number of Iraqi voters waiting in long lines stretching around the block.
Here is the Oregonian feature headline today:

        "BUSH ALLOWS SPYING ON CITIZENS"

... Followed with a feature New York Times story based wholly on anonymous sources (a great combination designed to assure reliability, yes, from the discredited radical anti-war Times?) which talks about how BUSH WILL ALLOW THE GOVERNMENT TO SECRETLY SPY ON CITIZENS, as part of the war on terrorism. To make this the Oregonian's headline story -- on this historic election day -- something is badly out of whack there at the Oregonian.  It has allowed its ANTI-BUSH hatred to influence its journalistic judgment.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? -- IT TRULY STAGGERS THE IMAGINATION!

That the Oregonian could even think of featuring this piece over headlining the Iraq election is UNBELIEVABLE!, even for the ever left-leaning Portland news?paper -- is "leaning" too mild a word??? The Oregonian must totally fail to appreciate how petty and foolish it look, in its utter failure to appreciate the monumental importance of this historic event.

All day Thursday the TV networks were reporting the huge turnout for the milestone election in Iraq and showing the long lines of voters, yet here is the Oregonian choosing to highlight Bush's supposed "spying on citizens" as alleged by the now even more unreliable New York Times, based on anonymous sources. Here is the bottom line folks:

THE OREGONIAN FEATURES ONLY ATTACKS ON BUSH IN ITS FRONT PAGE HEADLINE!

This must now be a matter of Oregonian POLICY in its ongoing anti-warrior attack as expressed in its hatred for President Bush. What else can account for it?  The Oregonian has completely lost its way and can no longer be relied on to cover news stories in an open and objective manner, or to even select the important stories it chooses to print. The Oregonian is now
wholly UNRELIABLE, as a source of news.

THIS IRAQ ELECTION IS A MILESTONE TURNING POINT IN THE WAR ON
TERRORISM IN IRAQ!

... You know -- the Iraq war that the Oregonian has been knocking in its news and editorials, and editorial cartoons almost every day for the past three years. We are finally winning in Iraq -- but the Oregonian simply WILL NOT feature ANY favorable news from that theater. It chooses only bad news for its Oregonian headlines. Today was the crown jewel!

(OMED: We disagree with Ross in part.  In the paragraph above he says "we are finally winning in Iraq."  G.W. has been winning in Iraq from the first day our troops crossed the border.)

I am still shaking my head folks -- but I must say it is not wholly unexpected. But I just could not believe my eyes in seeing how the Oregonian would be so blatantly anti-warrior in its ongoing attack on Bush, and in its failure to give fair treatment to his successes in the war on terror. The
Oregonian has now moved much further left in its news pages than I would have thought they could have -- becoming a blatant and outright opponent of everything President Bush does in office -- slamming him at every single opportunity.

As a CFO I once reported to a CEO who failed to understand how to really get a handle on running the business, so he did what he could as he saw fit. At a time of cost overruns and declining profits he took the opportunity to overhaul our phone system -- which was something he knew how to do. Just like the Oregonian featuring an attack on Bush for what the New York Times calls "spying on citizens" at a time when it should be proclaiming this truly astounding milestone toward our eventual victory over worldwide terrorism -- proves once again how out of touch with what is truly important the Oregonian -- as well as the Defeatacrats and all of LeftMedia -- truly are.

They have lost touch with reality.
