E-RFD: No Fiscal Restraint in Oregon
   Date:  Tue, 10 Apr 2007 15:46:43 -0700
   From:  "Ross A. Smith" <rosssmith@charter.net>

What is perhaps most troubling aspect of the Oregon public employees unions agenda is that there is obviously never an amount of tax money collected in Oregon that is ever enough to satisfy them -- and this agenda has the full support of the Oregonian and the other two largest newspapers in Oregon.

Likewise there is no limit to public spending -- it is never enough to suit the unions and the Oregonian editors. In over fifteen years the Oregonian has not failed to endorse every single new tax, tax increase, bond measure, increased fees, and requirement for more government spending at all levels of government.  Likewise there is no limit to the size of state government nor restraint on public spending -- none -- ever -- not one time in over fifteen years. The Unions and the Oregonian cannot say no to increasing taxes and spending in Oregon -- and this union big tax and spend agenda has also become the agenda of the Democrat party.

The politicians and media that control Oregon politics are like small children whose parents could not say "no" to their requests for more spending -- and Oregon taxpayers continue to suffer because of their unbridled prolifigacy. Now most potential private sector investment is being sucked up by the public sector, private companies are leaving the state and taking private jobs with them, as the public sector continues to swell -- over twenty percent in this biennium with
Democrats in full charge ahead.

California here we come -- the "Little (Hungry) Bear" State unfolding. It cannot help but get much worse every single year, as the politicians cry for still more taxes and spending to feed the voracious beast they have created.

Note: E-RFDs are messages that circulate around the internet.  Some are factual and some are mythical.  We make no distinction between the types, here, but rather offer them pretty much as they come in -- as examples of comment and rumor from a global mind.
