Internet Auction to Sell Entire Maine Lake

Machias, ME - A "Downeast" Maine forested parcel of 1565 acres is now on the auction block. What makes this latest Ebay sale unique is that the property includes an entire freshwater lake.
Attracting the attention of conservationists and vacation home buyers looking for waterfront privacy is the complete shoreline of a 140 acre lake with the surrounding forest. Located 7 miles east of the town of Machias; the property is in the path of increasing coastal development that has been a controversial issue in this quaint town of 18th century architecture and white steepled churches.

Waterfront land prices have increased dramatically as summertime tourists and retirees have discovered this area of beautifully clean lakes and towering pines. The parcel to be sold comprises 1565 acres around the lake and includes frontage on both sides of several streams.

"It's an absolutely beautiful and peaceful lake and to be able to own the entire natural shoreline will give the buyer absolute privacy, yet it's close to town. Where in the world can you control an entire lake?" said James Yocum of Investment Grade Properties, the Chicago area firm handling the sale.

Ebay, the powerhouse internet auction site recently offered and sold an entire California town. This sale was followed by the offer of an entire Caribbean island.  Individuals interested in participating in the auction can get more information and view photos of the property at www.entirelake.com  The auction is #2314823448 at www.ebay.com and closes May 2, 2003
