They're taking you apart a piece at a time.

Ray Suarez was the public broadcasting idiot who introduced the segment.  It ran on the News Hour.  The date was August 13, 2002.  A judge had just decided a lawsuit in favor of a plaintiff who was demanding that her health coverage include payment for The Pill.

What I want to know is how much longer are you going to take this crap?

The Democrats discovered early in the Clinton administration that America doesn't want socialized medicine.  Hillary's attempt to shove it down our throats cost them the U.S. Congress.  A decade later they have yet to win any part of it back.  Yes, the Democrats control the Senate, and no, they didn't win it in an election.  The likeliehood is that they will not win the House back this fall, plus will lose the Senate.

(In a mid-terme election? The party that's not in the White House will lose seats?  That's right.  Remember that you read it here, two months before it happened.)

So, no more frontal assaults.  We're heading towards socialized medicine a health issue at a time, now.

The reason for the new approach is that in spite of our disastrous educational system, our blatently PC big media and all the movies coming out of Hollywood, the American people are aging.  And with age comes experience.  The utopian fantasies of youth are shed and awareness of how the world actually works begins to rear its ugly, non-PC head.

Let's say the pill costs $25.00 a month.  Let's say there are fifty million working women.  That comes to  one billion, two hundred and fifty million dollars a month.  But, it's a women's health issue, they say.  Some moron who works for the government in the state of Washington said, "If this had been a man's health issue, it would have been covered years ago."

That qualifies as one of the most titanically stupid things ever said. It is and always has been a "man's health issue."  Venereal disease and AIDS are the evidence.  But are men (other than homosexuals) demanding the government or their company health plan subsidize their Trojans?  What idiot (other than a homosexual or a government employee) would suggest something like that?  What idiot ever has?

But, since titanically stupid is the stock in trade for the Democrats these days, lets cost that one out, too.  If you buy condoms for all the working men of America, the tally ought to come in at around a half a billion dollars a month.

Added to the pill bill, that comes to one billion, seven hundred and fifty million dollars a month.  Roughly twenty-one billion dollars a year -- not one dime of which has anyting to do with a health issue for anybody.  There is no Constitutional right to have sex at other people's expense.  If you can't protect yourself or your partner, don't have sex.

This is known as responsible behavior.  It was all the rage in America up until 1960.  You remember 1960.  That was when your total tax bill, federal, state and fuel, represented fifteen percent of your income and there was no PBS.

God, how I miss those days.  (LL)
