Who wants to raise a million?

Tillamook High School students do, that’s who ...
for Kids Making Miracles for Kids Charity Drive

The annual Charity Drive ended at 8 a.m., Feb. 19, but the official announcement won’t be made until after the alumni basketball game, that begins at 7 p.m., Feb. 21.

The game will be held at the Tillamook High School gym, with coronation following. The event will include totals earned by each class, with the top fund-raising classes prince and princess earning royalty status as king and queen, plus distribution of part of the funds to Doernbecher’s Childrens Hospital. With a total of $934,616.78 up to this year, will they make it to $1 million?

Bonita Ellsworth couldn’t resist this purple elephant at the Tillamook High School freshmen rummage sale held Feb. 16. From Portland, Ellsworth has a part-time home in Rockaway Beach. “I’m just out doing the sale,” she said. Leftovers from the sale were being donated to the Boy Scouts’ Good Will Good Turn project.

Tillamook High School senior Matt  Kehl said “the morning turnout was  good” for his class’ Charity Drive  rummage sale, held at East  Elementary School Feb. 16. The  sale was originally planned for the  previous weekend. The sale  attracted buyers of all ages,  including, shown here, 4-year-old  Joey Mintz, who accompanied his  mother. He is the son of Matthew  and Vicki Mintz of Tillamook.
